Key Takeaways
  • Had a great Halloween weekend!

  • Some changes on how we make content and video.

  • Some changes in how our newsletter is formatted.

The Halloween weekend was a blast! We had such a great time with the hospital staff, and it was heartwarming to see patients and visitors in good spirits despite their challenges. Family and friends were also thrilled to have the holiday fall on a weekend this year.

On the flip side, October was a pretty quiet month for us at TFMMT. Some of our team members have been busy with other jobs, and a few have been under the weather. But we’re getting back on track and working hard to move things forward.

Improving Our Content Strategy

We’ve seen more people visiting our website, but we want to make it—and our social media—better. This quarter marks two years since we started our blog, and we’re aiming for big improvements next year.

To reach our goals, we’ve changed how we create content. Our main focus is on improving the quality of our writing. I’ve asked April and Joe to help review my work closely to make sure it meets the needs of our readers and search engines.

Before, we focused on making my writing clear and simple. But we realized that’s not enough; the content also needs to meet Google’s standards.

Now, we’re diving into specific topics to give our readers more detailed information. This is a big task, so I’ll need April’s help to add more details, while I focus on sharing my personal experiences.

We’re also updating some of our old articles. As things change over time, some information becomes outdated. Products may disappear, new services become available, and better recommendations can be made.

Finding Our Voice

We’ve been using an AI voice for our videos, but YouTube is moving away from AI-generated content. So, we’re switching to using our own voices. It’s been a bit challenging because some of our team members are shy about being on camera or using microphones.

I’ve tried recording my own voice, but I didn’t like how it sounded. Joe reminded me that it’s normal to feel that way. It’s tough to get the pacing and tone right, and I want to sound more lively than the AI voice we used before.

I think what I did wasn’t good enough, so we are now looking for a new team member to help with the narration, which might take some time, but we’re excited about where this is going.

Finally, we’re making changes to our newsletter. We want it to be simpler and easier to read.

A Special Shoutout

By the way, a quick shoutout to Michelle from Making Sense of Cents! I reached out to her recently and had a great conversation. She was one of my early inspirations for starting this blog. After chatting, I asked for some advice on how to take our blog to the next level, and she shared some helpful tips. Thanks again, Michelle!

The Missing Sections

For now, the video section of our newsletter will be taking a short break. We’re preparing some exciting new video content and will bring it back once everything is ready.

We’ve also temporarily removed the Team Corner as part of our effort to streamline the newsletter and improve both SEO and overall content quality.

Of course, the list of articles is still here—check them out below:

Newsletter—Done!

Halloween was such a fun experience! We had a great time, and I hope you did too. Here’s to good days ahead—Thanksgiving is coming!
